Cold process/Melt and pour layering?

I had a strange question on if you could layer re-batched cold process soap and melt and pour soap. I wanted to put a horse in some soap for a friend and found a all natural clear melt and pour soap but i don't want to make it completely out of that and prefer cold process due to being able to control ingredients. So is it ok to layer them, or should I avoid it all together?
